In 2023, MARTOR revolutionized the safety knife universe again by releasing a collection of our most popular safety knives remade from recycled plastic. Now you can expect the same high quality, sharp safety box cutters as before, but protect the environment at the same time.

With our SECUMAX 350 SE and SECUMAX 148 available in eco-friendly casings, expect to feel good knowing that you’re keeping your employees safe from lacerations and helping reduce the world’s carbon footprint, one safety knife at a time.

The Environmental Challenge

Plastics remain one of the world’s largest contributors to marine waste, landing somewhere around 85% of total marine waste. That’s the result of the world producing nearly 430 metric tonnes (around 474 US tons) of plastic per year, with large amounts of it ending up in oceans, rivers, and lakes, thus polluting water sources and harming marine life.

It’s been estimated that 40% of the ocean’s surface is covered by plastic debris, and at this rate, it will grow even more by 2040. Add in the fact that plastics stick around in the environment for a long time and often are created thanks to the use of planet-warming fuels, plastics remain a long-term danger to the environment.

That’s why it is more important than ever to produce products that assist in protecting the Earth we care about. Every safety knife we produce from recycled plastic protects natural resources while limiting the amount of greenhouse emissions into the atmosphere.

MARTOR takes employee safety seriously; now it’s time to protect the environment, too.

Knives with a Green Twist

MARTOR is proud to introduce to the world our first collection of eco-friendly safety knives: the SECUMAX 350 and SECUMAX 148. These popular knives have been used in warehouses and businesses across the country and now feature handles made from recycled plastic.

The SECUMAX 350 comes in two forms: with a 0.5 mm blade and a 0.3 mm blade. These are our sustainable all-rounder, perfect for nearly any kind of slice you’ll need to make. Their black frames consist of recycled material, and the interchangeable blade head provides a longer lifespan, thus limiting the need to produce more plastic materials.

Our other eco-friendly safety knife is the SECUMAX 148, made from recycled plastic. The glass fiber reinforcement and the robust, 2-sided cutting edge blade head ensure that your safety knife lasts longer and cuts sharper.

Collaborating with Domo Chemicals, these knives are made by collecting and recycling spinning plastic scrap from the textile industry and a few additional additives to make our innovative eco-friendly safety knives.

Quality and Performance

When you purchase a knife from MARTOR, rest assured you’re getting the sharpest blades on the market without sacrificing safety or quality.

All of MARTOR’s safety knives follow three essential guidelines before ever stepping out of our production facility: ergonomic handles, sharp blades, and safety features.

The SECUMAX 350 and SECUMAX 148 deliver unprecedented flexibility with their one-of-a-kind ergonomic handles. These knives are meant to be held for long periods without causing any cramping or hand pain.

And when it comes to blades, no one’s safety knife blades are sharper than MARTOR’s. Made in Solingen, Germany, our blades are sharp and stay sharp, preventing injuries as a result of dull blades.

Each safety knife comes prepared with different levels of safety features that protect employees with every slice. Both the SECUMAX 350 and SECUMAX 148 feature a concealed blade that helps prevent lacerations from ever occurring.
